FABTECH - Avure Technologies Becomes Quintus Technologies

Quintus in Sweden and the US continues to focus on high pressure metal working and material densification equipment for the manufacturing industry

Västerås, Sweden November 09, 2015 -- Avure Technologies AB, headquartered in Västerås, Sweden has changed its name to Quintus Technologies AB. The US subsidiary, based in Columbus, Ohio is already named Quintus Technologies, LLC. Avure Technologies Inc. in the US will continue to focus on high pressure processing (HPP) food processing machines, and Quintus Technologies in Sweden and the US will continue to focus on high pressure metal working and material densification equipment for the manufacturing industry.

"Quintus Technologies is the undisputed leader within high pressure technology. Stemming from the Swedish electro technical company ABB, we have over 60 years of experience of developing, building and installing systems for customers within the automotive and aerospace sectors and general industry", says Jan Söderström, CEO of Quintus Technologies.

"The name Quintus Technologies underlines that we continue to focus on industrial customers requiring systems for sheet metal forming or systems for cold or hot isostatic pressing. The re-naming is a small part of a substantial effort now launched to strengthen our offer and our position on all markets, from Europe to the Americas and especially Asia. The strong history of the Quintus name will help us to release the full potential", Jan Söderström continues.

We have chosen the name Quintus because it is strongly connected to our history. The Quintus press was the world's first high pressure press, a design that was used to manufacture synthetic diamonds and other products. Today the name Quintus is virtually synonymous with the technology and it therefore feels right that we are now making a clear link back to our historical heritage.

The new name and logotype was officially launched today during the FABTECH 2015 exhibition in Chicago, IL., USA and will from now on be used in all markets.

Quintus Technologies has world-leading experience and know-how within high pressure solutions for forming and densification of advanced materials, production of critical and high-performance industrial parts and 3D-forming through hot and cold isostatic pressing. Quintus Technologies has also developed the Flexforming process. Flexforming is a sheet metal forming process using a single rigid tool half and high forming pressure via a flexible rubber diaphragm to achieve economical, high quality parts, especially for low volume production. Quintus Technologies has developed, built and installed over 150 Flexform systems at customer facilities all over the world.

The systems developed by Quintus Technologies are used by a wide variety of customers from the aerospace, automotive, energy, and medical implants industry sectors, as well as customers working with, for example, casting, ceramics, and electronics.
