Industrial Internet of Things Focal Point for Global Automation & Manufacturing Summit at 2016's Industrial Automation North America
Senior level discussions about the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) will be the focal point for the Global Automation & Manufacturing Summit held during Industrial Automation North America 2016, which is co-located at IMTS from September 12-17, 2016, at McCormick Place in Chicago. Themes for the one-day conference on Wednesday, September 14 revolve around cloud-based manufacturing, robotics and maintenance.
Presenters will cover a wide range of topics from IIoT trends to the adoption of robotics and standards. The line-up of speakers and topics scheduled to appear include:
• Luncheon Keynote Address: Industrial Internet of Things: Jack Nehlig, president & CEO of Phoenix Contact USA - a discussion of his companys initiatives on the Industrial Internet of Things, both as an industry supplier and as a manufacturer.
• Cloud-based manufacturing: Setting the standard: Representatives from GE, Schneider Electric and others - an overview of industry attitudes toward and adoption of IIoT in manufacturing and panel discussion of how those standards will be achieved.
• Robotics: Rise of the Machines: Mike Jacobs, chairman of the board of the Robotics Institute of America (RIA) & Rick VandenBoom of Applied Manufacturing Technologies - an industry overview on the adoption and use of robotics in manufacturing and panel discussion.
• How maintenance and Big Data can co-exist: Sal Speda, research director Discrete Automation of ARC Advisory Group, Franz Gruber, founder and CEO of FORCAM, and Aurelio Banda, president and CEO for North America of Beckhoff Automation - a panel discussion on maintenance in the age of IIoT.
