binder USA Introduces Power Bayonet Connector for M15 Thread: Rugged power and signal interface with a single cable

binder USA's new PBC15 Power Bayonet Connector is designed for power supply and signal linking of devices via a single cable. The size of the connector is correspondant to an M15 thread, effectively bridging the gap between M12 and M23 for power supply applications. The PBC15 is also designed for easy wiring and installation with a quick-locking system. The compact PBC15 is ideal for power supply to 3-phase motors or frequency converters. Its three power pins supply the three live phases of a 3-phase motor with two additional pins for signal transmission, as well as a Protective Earth (PE) contact. Shieldable variants of the PBC15 are well suited to environments with electromagnetic interference (EMI). With rated values of 63 V and 10 A, the connector's signal pins can be used, for example, to control brakes or to query operating parameters such as temperatures. Applications include automation technology, machine engineering, and warehousing intralogistics.

Using AI to Collect & Leverage Data

Using AI to Collect & Leverage Data

Data is the foundation of Industry 4.0. While skilled workers will always be essential, data is reshaping the manufacturing landscape, enabling automation of repetitive tasks, empowering smarter decision-making with AI assistance, and reducing defects and downtime. This shift allows small and medium-sized manufacturers (SMMs) to compete more effectively on quality, speed, and cost. While AI and machine learning systems typically require around two years to collect enough data to reach their full potential, manufacturers can start seeing benefits almost immediately with basic analysis tools and dashboards. Our MEP National NetworkTM expert explains how in this Manufacturing Tomorrow article.
