FABTECH Canada 2024 Concludes Three Days of Manufacturing Innovation and Connection
Cutting-edge technologies, compelling education, and prominent speakers among the highlights
FABTECH Canada, the premier event for Canada's metal forming, fabricating, welding, and finishing industry, concluded a successful three-day run at the Toronto Congress Centre. The event brought together world-class suppliers, industry experts, and cutting-edge technologies, providing the nearly 7,000 attendees with numerous opportunities to connect, learn and explore new products.
The exhibit floor featured over 270 exhibiting companies showcasing the latest equipment and technology, including the newest fiber laser cutting machines, automatic press brakes, robotic welding solutions, spraying systems, and much more. Visitors benefited from the hands-on product demonstrations and expert insights into current and future manufacturing trends.
"FABTECH Canada 2024 exceeded expectations," said Mark Hoper, Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, senior vice president of expositions and media. "The show floor was full of energy and excitement, with attendees actively engaging with exhibitors and discovering new solutions to their manufacturing challenges. The success of this event is a testament to the strength of the Canadian manufacturing industry and its commitment to quality, innovation, and global competitiveness."
The event was also a hub for inspiration and collaboration. The panel discussions, keynote presentations, and the show floor social facilitated meaningful connections, while the conference sessions and workshops covered trends, best practices and offered solutions to drive growth and profitability. On day two, the popular Women of FABTECH program made its Canadian debut, sparking important conversations about diversity, equity and inclusion in the industry.
"The inaugural Women of FABTECH was truly inspiring," said Tracy Garcia, CEM, group director - FABTECH Series at SME. "The panel discussion featuring prominent women in manufacturing provided a platform for sharing experiences, fostering mentorship, and championing greater participation in manufacturing. It was great to hear stories from leaders in the industry who are paving the way for future generations."

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs
Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
