CRP Technology Celebrated as Technical Finalist in Two Categories at the 2024 TCT Awards

CRP Technology has been shortlisted for the prestigious TCT Awards 2024 in two categories: the TCT Creative Application Award for their 3D-printed cat's eye props in the film 'Ferrari,' and the TCT Materials Award for Windform TPU. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on June 5th at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham, UK.

CRP Technology is proud to announce its shortlisting for the prestigious TCT Awards 2024 in two distinguished categories. The company's innovative contributions have garnered recognition in the TCT Creative Application Award for the production of the cat's eye props featured in the Michael Mann movie 'Ferrari,' 3D-printed from the CRP's thermoplastic polyurethane Windform TPU. The same material has also been nominated in the TCT Materials Award category.

"These nominations underscore CRP Technology's commitment to innovation and excellence in the field of 3D printing," comments Franco Cevolini, CEO, and Technical Director of CRP Technology. "We are honored to receive this recognition and look forward to continuing to enhance the convergence of efficiency, high technology, and advanced materials."

The 3D-printed cat's eye prop was pivotal to the plotline of the movie, and its nomination for the Creative Awards highlights how the additive industry can push the boundaries of technology in film, theatre, art, architecture, and jewelry. The cat's eye represents innovation at the cinema-technology intersection and demonstrates CRP Technology's responsiveness to the film crew's pressing timeline. The use of advanced 3D printing technology and high-performance materials showcases the adaptability of industrial 3D printing to meet specific requirements promptly, embodying efficiency, high technology, and creativity in cinematic prop design.

The cat's eye prop, crafted from Windform TPU, boasts exceptional elasticity, flexibility, and impact resistance. With an elongation at break exceeding 400%, Windform TPU enabled the creation of a dynamic and lifelike cat's eye prop for 'Ferrari.' Its high impact resistance ensured the prop's longevity and reliability, vital for the rigorous conditions of film production. Moreover, Windform TPU's soft texture enhanced the prop's tactile appeal, contributing to its authenticity and immersing viewers in the world of Ferrari. These qualities, along with its nomination as a finalist in the TCT Materials Awards, underscore Windform TPU's significance and excellence in the additive manufacturing industry.

The 2024 TCT Awards finalists have been selected from a pool of over 100 candidates, representing a diverse range of products and applications across 11 categories. The winners will be announced at the prestigious awards ceremony on June 5th at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham, UK. Since 2017, the TCT Awards have celebrated ongoing advancements in additive manufacturing, running alongside the annual TCT 3Sixty event.
