Sandvik announces their webshop Osprey® Online - offering standardized alloys for additive manufacturing (AM) from stock - will be open for business as of April 12, 2023. Promising fast deliveries, hassle-free ordering, and premium quality metal powders, the webshop will be inaugurated by a special edition episode of interactive webinar series Additive By Sandvik: Material Matters.

Last November, at Formnext 2022, Sandvik pre-launched a concept to offer alloys optimized for AM from their market-leading range of Osprey® metal powders online. To mark the webshop opening on April 12, a special edition episode of interactive webinar series Additive By Sandvik: Material Matters will be aired - demonstrating the webshop and its alloys in greater detail. The e-commerce solution will be servicing Europe as a first step, with more markets being added shortly, and offers on-demand access and fast shipping - while promising "expertise with every purchase" based on Sandvik's long-standing position as a materials authority.

Dr Andrew Coleman, Head of Sandvik's Business Unit Powder, says:
"We are thrilled to offer this customer-centric solution, to provide our customers across the additive manufacturing industry with premium metal powders at any time. We are painfully aware of the struggles to acquire timely deliveries of high-quality metal powders, to keep important AM projects from coming to a halt. We are very excited to be the go-to partner that can help our customers through that challenge - and many more."

The metal powders initially available for online order include Osprey® titanium powders, maraging steel, and nickel-based superalloys, as well as stainless steels such as duplex- and super duplex, austenitic, martensitic, and precipitation hardening steels. Viewers of the special edition webinar are also presented with an in-depth presentation of a selection of the alloys offered from stock.

Luke Harris, Sales Director at Sandvik Additive Manufacturing, says:
"Our webinar series has proven a much-appreciated way for us to connect with the additive market, with more than 260 000 viewers having seen the last episode. It offers in-depth insights into our expertise, operations, and product offering - as well as specific application

areas and industries. This episode will provide our customers with everything they need to access metal powders via Osprey® Online. It's the perfect opportunity to get acquainted with the new platform and our experts, and not least have a proper run-down of the metal powder alloys available from stock."

The webinar also explains the role Osprey® Online plays in Sandvik's mission to drive the shift towards more sustainable manufacturing.

Dr Andrew Coleman comments:
"Sustainability is an integrated part of our operations at Sandvik Additive Manufacturing. From manufacturing the powders in facilities powered by green electricity, to keeping strategic stock and avoiding air freight, the e-commerce business is definitely in-line with our aim of driving the shift toward more sustainable manufacturing."

The Osprey® Online webinar will be aired at 12.00 on April 12, and ends with the webshop doors opening. Sign up for the session and learn more here.
