Speakers Announced for the 2018 FLOW-3D European Users Conference

Flow Science, Inc. has announced the speakers for its 2018 FLOW-3D European Users Conference, which will be held at Le Meridien Stuttgart Hotel in Stuttgart, Germany on May 14 – 16, 2018. The conference will be co-hosted by Flow Science Deutschland.

Customers who use the FLOW-3D product suite as the basis for innovative research and development will present their work, including topics such as additive manufacturing and foaming applications, sediment transport modeling, centrifugal casting processes, cryogenic tank flows, and flow in a peristaltic pump. Speakers from Pöyry Energy GmbH, Roche Diagnostics GmbH, ArianeGroup GmbH, Mott MacDonald, EDF-CIH, Österreichisches Gießerei-Institut, JBA Consulting and Endurance Overseas are part of a diverse lineup of presenters. Additionally, Flow Sciences senior technical staff members will present current and upcoming developments for the FLOW-3D product suite. A full list of speakers and their topics is available at: https://www.flow3d.com/speakers-announced-for-the-2018-flow-3d-european-users-conference/

Advanced training will be offered on Monday, May 14. Attendees can choose from two tracks: Metal Casting and Water & Environmental. The Metal Casting track, taught by Dr. Matthias Todte of Flow Science Deutschland, will focus on best practices for setting up models and interpreting results, including defect identification. The Water & Environmental track, taught by John Wendelbo, Director of Sales at Flow Science, will explore many facets of a real-world fish passage case study.

Flow Sciences HPC partner, Penguin Computing will participate as a conference sponsor. Penguin Computing is a leading developer of open, Linux-based HPC, enterprise data center and cloud solutions, offering a range of products from Linux servers to integrated, turn-key HPC clusters. FLIR Si1-LD - Industrial Acoustic Imaging Camera for Compressed Air Leak Detection

FLIR Si1-LD - Industrial Acoustic Imaging Camera for Compressed Air Leak Detection

The FLIR Si1-LD is an easy-to-use acoustic imaging camera for locating and quantifying pressurized leaks in compressed air systems. This lightweight, one-handed camera is designed to help maintenance, manufacturing, and engineering professionals identify air leaks faster than with traditional methods. Built with a carefully constructed array of MEMS microphones for high sensitivity, the Si1-LD produces a precise acoustic image that visually displays ultrasonic information, even in loud, industrial environments. The acoustic image is overlaid in real time on a digital image, allowing you to accurately pinpoint the source of the sound, with onboard analytics which quantify the losses being incurred. The Si1-LD features a plugin that enables you to import acoustic images to FLIR Thermal Studio suite for offline editing, analysis, and advanced report creation. Field analysis and reporting can also be done using the FLIR Acoustic Camera Viewer cloud service. Transferring of images can be managed via memory stick or USB data cable. Through a regular maintenance routine, the FLIR Si1-LD can help facilities reduce their environmental impact and save money on utility bills.
