Industry 4.0: Integration Objects releases OPC UA Wrapper, its latest solution for the next generation of system connectivity

Integration Objects announced today the release of its OPC UA Wrapper product. Integration Objects is world-leading software solutions provider specialized in operations and manufacturing intelligence, plant automation, command and control systems, cyber security and systems integration for the chemical, oil & gas, process and manufacturing industries, power and utilities and defense around the globe.

Integration Objects OPC UA Wrapper is a plug and play solution that enables OPC UA clients to communicate with classic OPC servers. It supports OPC Data Access, OPC Historical Data Access and OPC Alarms & Events servers.

OPC UA Wrapper acts as a bridge between classic OPC servers connected to the network and OPC UA clients by mapping the address space of classic OPC servers to the address space of an OPC UA server.

"OPC has been very popular in the industry and it is becoming more popular with OPC UA, especially for Industry 4.0 and Internet of Things solutions implementation." said Samy Achour, CEO, Integration Objects. "OPC UA Wrapper provides our customers with a scalable and robust solution for cross-platform interoperability by setting up an easy way to leverage available COM based OPC software in order to adopt OPC UA architecture and to benefit from OPC UA data model and security features."

The OPC UA Wrapper solution provides the following main features:
• COM Server to UA Server
Integration Objects OPC UA Wrapper is a high performance gateway that provides OPC Unified Architecture clients with access to COM/DCOM based OPC servers as if they were OPC UA servers. It supports not only multiple local and remote OPC DA/HDA/AE servers per service but also multiple wrapper services running at the same time. This multi-connected bridge exposes any OPC server data as OPC UA servers data.
The OPC UA Wrapper supports two types of communication protocols: TCP and HTTP. All created wrappers run as services in the background.
• Intuitive User Interface
OPC UA Wrapper includes a configuration tool for an intuitive management of services and that reduces configuration efforts. With this graphical user interface, users can create, edit, start, and stop services as well as configure security settings.
• OPC UA Security
Integration objects OPC UA Wrapper provides security features introduced in the OPC UA specification such as establishing secure communication channels, keeping track of sessions, using encryption, and signing messages. The security modes to be used, along with user identity tokens, can be chosen, managed and changed by the user from the configuration tool.
• Log Capabilities
The OPC UA Wrapper records messages in log files using different logging levels. This enables end users to track the execution and to diagnose any encountered problems.
• Support of 32 and 64 bit platforms

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
