Smart Manufacturing Leadership Coalition Will Lead the New Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute

The Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute brings over $140 million in public-private investment to develop new technology solutions for use in advanced manufacturing

BLOOMINGTON, Minn., June 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Savigent Software (www.savigent.com) announced today that as a member of the Smart Manufacturing Leadership Coalition (SMLC), the company has been named as an industry partner in the new Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute. On Monday, June 20, 2016, President Obama announced that SMLC will lead the new Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute, in partnership with the Department of Energy. This coalition brings together a consortium of organizations from across industry, academia, government and non-profits trade groups to spur advances in Smart Manufacturing technology and digital process controls that can radically improve the efficiency of U.S. advanced manufacturing.


The Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute will focus on innovations that can dramatically reduce energy expenses in advanced manufacturing, strengthening the manufacturing sector and positioning the United States to lead the manufacturing of tomorrow, helping sustain the resurgence of U.S. manufacturing currently underway. The Smart Manufacturing Leadership Coalition will launch the Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute with a focus on accelerating the development and adoption of advanced sensors, data analytics and controls in manufacturing, and using Smart Manufacturing software to reach new levels of efficiency and optimization of operations.
