Rootstock Software Branches out with Scion, Providing Solutions to Manufacturing and Supply Chain Enterprises
Deloitte Digital to deliver implementation and support for Scion's large-scale deals
San Ramon, CA (January 7, 2025) - Rootstock Software, a recognized leader in the Manufacturing ERP space, today announced a partnership with Rootstock Scion (Scion), a newly established reseller focused on meeting the ERP needs of manufacturing and supply chain enterprises. This agreement marks a strategic step for Rootstock Software, enabling it to expand into the large enterprise client marketplace.
Scion (https://clouderp.rootstock.com/rootstock-scion), a business partner launched by former Rootstock CEO David Stephans, will focus on English-speaking regions, including the USA, Canada, and the UK. In addition, Deloitte Digital will serve as the primary implementation and support for Scion, enabling seamless configuration and specialized services tailored to the unique needs of Scion's large-scale enterprise clients.
"While Rootstock will remain focused on midsize manufacturers, by partnering with Scion, we extend our reach into the enterprise manufacturing sector," said Rick Berger, CEO of Rootstock Software (https://www.rootstock.com/about-erp-software-company/management-team/). "David is a trusted leader with deep expertise in both Rootstock ERP and the manufacturing industry. We're excited about building a powerful partnership to address the complex demands of large enterprises, helping them leverage our ERP as a flexible, scalable foundation for their needs."
With Stephans at the helm, Scion offers an unparalleled level of industry expertise. Stephans has held senior management roles in many software firms, including Baan and i2 Technologies. He's also led operations as General Manager for a high-growth aerospace and defense subcontractor, navigating complex customer demands and stringent compliance requirements. This background equips Scion with a nuanced understanding of enterprise solutions from the manufacturer's perspective.
"I'm excited to apply my decades of experience in manufacturing and supply chain technology, combined with in-depth knowledge of Rootstock ERP (https://www.rootstock.com/manufacturing-erp-software/), to the high-stakes world of manufacturing enterprises," said David Stephans, Founder of Rootstock Scion. "Leaders in this space require highly configurable, AI-ready, composable applications that will easily fit into their complex IT environments. These enterprises want rapidly deployable, high-value solutions to optimally serve their customers during continued market volatility—there's no better solution than Rootstock to deliver these capabilities."
As the name Scion suggests, Stephans envisions his organization will serve as a seamless offshoot of Rootstock, extending the ERP provider's reach while still drawing on its deep-rooted values around enabling customer success.
Camil Bourbeau (https://www.linkedin.com/in/camilbourbeau/), Partner at Deloitte Canada, commented on his organization's role in the three-way alliance. "We're excited to support Scion in delivering Rootstock ERP as the foundational technology to some of the largest manufacturing and supply chain leaders in the industry. At Deloitte Digital (https://www.deloittedigital.com/us/en.html), we've worked with David in the past. Not only does he know Rootstock ERP inside and out, but he understands better than anyone how it aligns with the needs of enterprise manufacturers, since he's walked in their shoes. We look forward to empowering Scion customers with rapid time-to-value implementations, configuration, and ongoing support."
This arrangement reflects Rootstock's commitment to expand and build a top-tier alliance ecosystem while maintaining its commitment to customer service. "With Scion and Deloitte operating hand in hand, we'll be able to quickly scale to handle enterprise accounts while maintaining Rootstock's focus on delivering ERP product and service excellence to midmarket manufacturers," added Berger.
Together, Rootstock, Scion, and Deloitte Digital bring together comprehensive solutions for large-scale manufacturers and supply chain entities seeking a flexible, reliable ERP solution to meet their sophisticated business and technology requirements.

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs
Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
