Syntegon Announces Small Volume Parenteral Pharmaceutical Processing System

Syntegon announces the SVP Pharmaceutical Processing system which enables process flexibility and short delivery times.

New Richmond, WI — Syntegon, a leading provider of pharmaceutical packaging solutions and process technology, announces its small volume parenteral (SVP) pharmaceutical processing system, which uses fully standardized platforms based on off-the-shelf functional modules. Featuring a prefabricated integrated cleanroom design with all peripheral technology outside the cleanroom in a technical skid, the SVP is ideal for GMP manufacturing of a wide range of aqueous solution, suspension, and emulsion products with batch sizes ranging from 13-3,000 liters. The production area itself can also be separated and run under different application-specific room classifications.

Since equipment functionality is highly dependent on the drug product type, modularization helps to meet the need for both process flexibility and shorter delivery times. The highly modular nature of the SVP system provides the highest degree of flexibility in the layout of the room concept and the configuration of the production units. Pre-fabrication with a pre-tested modular building set allows for rapid delivery, installation, qualification, and operation. The modular concept reduces delivery times and engineering effort, and results in faster installation and commissioning, improved reliability, cost-efficiency, and easier maintenance. The SVP system is expandable with customer-specific isolator systems and is suitable for processing toxic substances up to OEB5.

With its high level automation, the SVP system ensures the highest hygienic standards and reproducibility throughout the entire process and offers convenient and reliable production. Designed in cooperation with customers, the system provides operator friendliness and ease of maintenance. Its hard pipe connection to filling line, integrated with a clean in place/sanitize in place (CIP/SIP) system and an optional integrated interface to the filling line with complete shared CIP/SIP, results in additional savings from streamlined delivery as well as process safety.
